Qafqazinfo.az — Mobile App
The news portal's iOS and Android app — whatever the newsroom publishes on the site appears on the phone straight away.
About the project
After we rebuilt the Qafqazinfo.az website, the client wanted to offer readers a mobile app as well. Because the site already ran on the system we had built, we could connect the app to the very same content.
One newsroom, two channels
We connected the app directly to the site’s content: the news feed, the categories, search, and the full body of each story. The moment an editor published on the site, the piece was live in the app too — there was no second content system to maintain.
The app
We built one app and published it on both iOS and Android. For a news app that was the right call: the content is the same on both, and building two separate apps would have doubled the budget for no reader-facing gain.
The app was handed over to the client. What is in the stores today is no longer the app we built — the client’s own team has carried it forward since.
